Digital content

Congress communication steps in the new direction. At this year’s congress a first attempt at aligning all communication activities with scientific objectives was made. Digital newsletters, “vidcasts”, podcasts, live streams and also a lively Twitter conversation was offered. The new Vienna Congress Website acts as a hub for all digital content.

Multi-disciplinary approach

Experts emphasised the need for a well-coordinated approach in treating highrisk prostate cancer. With a new range of drugs available, uro-oncologists say that an optimal use of these new drugs require a close collaboration with other cancer specialists for treatment to be effective.

Robot-assisted surgery

More trials are needed for robot-assisted surgery before its value or superiority to conventional surgery can be fully evaluated. The recommendations of the EAU Guidelines Office on robot-assisted or minimally invasive surgery for prostate cancer was among the scientific highlights during the congress
